What's in a .name?

I've had http://michellecox.name for a while but never knew what to do with it. I don't need another place to blog as I barely (read: really don't) keep up with the places I already have to blog. I already have a family website so it wasn't useful for that, either. I bought it on a whim and was debating just dropping it again when it expired.
Then, not too long ago, I was on Twitter when JessicaKnows was talking about the virtual business card that Sally Walker had made for her. I had never heard of a virtual business card before and was intrigued. When I saw it, I knew that would be perfect for my so far useless .name domain.
Since I'm a web developer it might seem a little strange to get excited about a 1 page HTML site. But I'm a programmer, not a designer. I can't draw and find theming a challenge. Heck, I mostly wear jeans to avoid having to match clothes. LOL! So having someone come along and turn my life into a nice, neat, one page summary was pretty cool.
The process is simple. I just told her my links, gave her a bit of a summary about me, told her what sort of things I'd like graphics-wise and what colors I like. She took it from there. Quick and easy and there you go. I definitely recommend her services. Even if you're a web developer yourself, check out her site and get yourself a fun little business card. :)
And don't forget to check out mine: http://michellecox.name

Do i get extra points for continually running into David Tennant - Dr Who in London?
Dunno about points but can you get his autograph for me? ;)

Sigh... I want to live in a place where people know what Doctor Who is.

Michelle, I don't if your read this, but if you I just wanted to say to you:
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
Much of everything I've created with Drupal would have been IMPOSSIBLE without you.
Your Adv. Profile was the reason I choose Drupal. We are using also your Adv. Forum.
I can't say how grateful I am. I am working with a partner on the development, and she has even pasted thank you notes to YOU on the test nodes of OUR site.
THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rod

I think your .name page is very cool! I always thought the name TLD wasn't that useful, I have been wrong many times....
Thanks for sharing !
