Why donate?

I have waffled for some time about whether to add a donate link to my page. At first, I was against it. I have always worked under the "pay it forward" principal and consider what I do to be giving back for the help I've been given. I do still believe in that and encourage anyone I've helped to go out and help someone else as the best form of payment.

That said, I've reached a point where I'm at a crossroads. I really need to take on some freelance work, and I have enough offers to keep me busy for some time, but I lack the time to follow through. With two little kids, I don't get much time each day to work on the computer. I spent all of it today again working on advanced profile and advanced forum and helping people in the support channel despite my post that I was going to take some time off to work on the client project I have waiting for me. I love this community and want to keep giving my time to it but pushing off paid work for completely uncompensated projects and support doesn't make much financial sense.

So I've finally decided to add a donate link to the site. There is, of course, no obligation. You are welcome to take my work for free with no strings attached. But if you make money off my work and would like to help out, the link is there.
