Porting old user profiles to Advanced

Hi Michelle!
Thank you for all of you hard work on these tutorials and the new Advanced Profile Module.
My questions are:

Do I need to do anything specific when installing/upgrading to the Advanced Module from your first/original profile tutorial that used modules like node family, node profile, node profile bonus, usernode, guestbook, etc?

Will my original users still be there or do I need to somehow "port" them into the module?

I read the documentation for Advanced Module and there was no mention of some of these modules so can I uninstall them?

Thanks again for your help!

Sorry about the horrible formatting of my previous post and my missing info.

Okay, I found a few tutorials and explanations on how to upgrade/install APK from the original tutorial. I'm thinking I've done something wrong though because when I click on the My Account tab to view my profile it looks like a horrible version of the old profile, not the cool APK layout.
These are my issues at hand if anyone can point my in the right direction I'd be totally grateful, but if not I'll keep searching the forums and main Drupal site.

1. Title shows %profilenode - did a search on this issue, but have not been helped by the info suggested.
2. I'm using Tapestry as my theme so I'm guessing maybe I didn't insert php code properly to call APK?
3. I've found other posts suggesting that I need to delete nodeprofile, usernode, nodefamily if I am using Biography. After doing this, still no change, but a nice error in the APK module that I got rid of by reinstalling APK.

I'll post back when/if I fix these.

Okay, maybe I've just had a "duh" moment these past few days, but here's what I figured out.

  1. Title shows %profilenode - did a search on this issue, but have not been helped by the info suggested.
  2. -- Used step #13 on this post and it worked. http://drupal.org/node/215705
  3. I'm using Tapestry as my theme so I'm guessing maybe I didn't insert php code properly to call APK?
  4. -- I reviewed my template.php file in Tapestry and I believe I inserted everything as I should. I actually shortened the word $variables to $vars and deleted "= array ())" after the initial function _phptemplate_variables code. However, I'm going to change this back because I think it may be a none issue.
  5. I've found other posts suggesting that I need to delete nodeprofile, usernode, nodefamily if I am using Biography. After doing this, still no change, but a nice error in the APK module that I got rid of by reinstalling APK.
  6. -- Well it looks as if it was working correctly, the one problem is that I have to go in and edit my account and all previous user accounts since their original information is not showing.
  7. What I may try is step #10 on the Installation and set-up instructions page that says "use the content copy module directly and import the contents of uprofile.inc."

Hope this helps others! Thanks again Michelle!

Glad you got it working

Sorry I haven't responded to this. I actually ended up closing the forums because I simply don't have time to deal with support issues here in addition to everywhere else. Glad you got it figured out.
